Our Vision and Purpose!One of the things we take seriously here is our Vision and Purpose. We feel as though this is our goal and reason for existence. In the book of Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) we read, Where there is no vision, the people perish. As a Bible-centered, Christ-led church we seek to follow the Lords vision, or direction, set forth in what is considered to be the Great Commandments (Mark 12:29-30) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). The following Vision and Purpose are based off of these, yet tailored to our particular church here in Lovington. Our Vision...To be in the Heart of the Community with the Community at Heart! Our Purpose...Although the New Testament Christian church was established by Jesus and His Apostles approximately 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem, the Christian Church was established approximately 200 years ago. Many men from different denominations sought to restore even the reformed churches (those that broke from the Catholic church to form Protestant denominations) to the authority of the Holy Scriptures. These men sought to wear no name but that of Christ. Their desire was to be called Christians only. This movement to restore the church is often called the Restoration Movement (I Corinthians 1:10-13; Acts 11:26)
